Values & Goals

Consistency

We believe in building relationships and trust through a ministry that provides stability, longevity, and reliability to the families we serve.  Our standard of ministry is to foster genuine relationships that go beyond single service events.

Veracity

We believe that relationship should be characterized by authenticity. Encompass is committed to living out the truth of the gospel and illuminating truth through genuinity of relationship. We believe and teach that Christ's love for us enables us to love others.

Reciprocity

We believe that all ministry relationships are understood with acceptance, empathy, and equal value in each individual with a genuine desire to enter into each other's lives through the Encompass Core Program. We approach service with humility, acknowledging that blessings go both ways.

Dignity

We believe in preserving the dignity of orphans, single moms and widows by embracing individuality and by interacting heart-to-heart. Our programing focuses on development rather than betterment.  Development based programing enables and empowers those we serve to reach a new level of living relationally, financially, educationally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Mercy

We believe in compassionately meeting people where they are in life. We value transparency as the first step in recognizing our identities in Christ and are committed to teach forgiveness and repentance as the foundation of long-term change.

Community

We believe that long-term relational and spiritual health is directly connected to a support system, defined by committed relationships. Encompass encourages orphans, single moms and widows to become involved in the community. We believe that the body of Christ within the local church provides community involvement and support, where it's not enough to know of someone, but to really know them through genuine relationship.

Our definition of “orphan”:

An orphan is a child who has one or both parents absent from the home, usually resulting from death.  In our society and community, the definition of an orphan includes children of single parents, children in foster care and those up for adoption.

Our definition of “widow”

The root meaning of the word widow is “forsaken.” In our community, women who have been “forsaken” by the death of their spouse, divorce, or by the absence of the father of their children are defined as a widow.

Our definition of “affliction”

Affliction is defined by relational, financial, educational, physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering.
